Scientist (Molecular Biology / NGS)

Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a "Scientist I/ II (NGS/Molecular Biology)" based in Pleasanton, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension) Rate: $35-48/hr on W2 (DOE) Company Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Sick leave, 401K Overview This position requires a hands-on experience in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and molecular diagnostics to support the development and optimization of advanced sequencing assays. Key Responsibilities Extract cell-free nucleic acids from clinical plasma, whole blood, and FFPE tissue samples. Perform and optimize NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and methylation sequencing workflows. Execute high-throughput sequencing operations using the AXELIOS 1 sequencer. Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot workflows, and recommend follow-up experiments. Collaborate with molecular biology and bioinformatics teams to improve sequencing performance. Required Qualifications Background in molecular biology, genomics, or a related life science field. Good understanding of NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and sequencing. Hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction and clinical specimens. Experience with methylation sequencing or assay optimization is highly desirable. Preferred Experience: Experience with cfDNA, FFPE samples, and high-throughput sequencing platforms.
