Overview/About the Family:
A loving, active family outside Boston is looking for a reliable, professional live-out nanny to join their established care team. They have two children, ages 5 and 4. Both are on the autism spectrum and attend a specialized autism school. One child has Asperger’s and the other is nonverbal. The family already has a live-out nanny, an RBT who helps on weekends, and overnight support two nights a week. Each child needs focused one-on-one attention, so they’re adding another caregiver. The parent is returning to work on a hybrid schedule. Life in this home is busy and full of energy. The right nanny is upbeat and hardworking, stays calm under pressure, and keeps up with the pace. Safety and security come first. The schedule stays fairly consistent within each school semester and will change as the children grow. Summers are especially busy, so flexibility is essential. The family is moving from Dedham to Wellesley in December and is looking for a long-term match.

Benefits: Use of a family vehicle with car seats (or your own vehicle), parking provided, long-term position

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the children safe and secure at home, in the car, and out in the community
  • Get the children ready on morning shifts and make breakfast
  • Drive the children to and from school and activities
  • Give one-on-one care and attention, working closely with the existing nanny, RBT, and overnight caregiver
  • Support the children’s routines and follow the strategies their school and therapy team use
  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities in the afternoon and evening
  • Help with dinner, bath time, and bedtime routines
  • Adjust to schedule changes each semester and take on expanded hours during the summer
  • Help occasionally on weekends as needed
  • Keep the parent updated on each child’s day, behavior, and progress

  • Team player who communicates well with other caregivers and therapists
  • Flexible about schedule changes from semester to semester and busier summers

  • Long-term availability
  • No pets in the home
  • Must be able to provide 3-5 Professional References
