General Manager | Pure Barre Stafford

Location: Stafford, VA
Position: Full-time
Reports to: Studio Owner

Build relationships. Lead a team. Grow a community.

At Pure Barre, we help people build strength, confidence, and meaningful connections. Our studio is a welcoming community where members feel supported, celebrated, and inspired to keep showing up.

We are seeking an energetic, relationship-driven General Manager who loves fitness and people, enjoys selling a service they believe in, and can bring a team together around shared goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager leads the studio’s people, performance, and overall experience—from membership growth and retention to team development and daily operations.

As the face of the studio, you will build genuine relationships with prospects and current members while creating a culture where members feel they belong and team members feel supported, respected, and invested in the studio’s success.

This is a hands-on, in-studio leadership position. You will personally sell memberships, work scheduled front desk shifts, coach team members, and set the tone for a positive, welcoming studio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Membership Sales & Growth
  • Drive membership sales and net growth, balancing new member acquisition with retention.
  • Personally sell memberships and class packages through conversations about each prospect’s goals.
  • Oversee lead outreach, introductory class bookings, first visits, and consistent follow-up.
  • Coach Sales Associates through hands-on training and feedback.
  • Review results and develop action plans with the Studio Owner.
  • Generate interest through community partnerships, referrals, events, social media, and local marketing.
  • Support retail sales through product knowledge and attentive service.
Team Leadership & Unity
  • Manage Sales Associates and teachers, partnering with the Lead Teacher on teaching quality, development, and brand standards.
  • Build a cohesive team through shared goals, mutual respect, recognition, and open communication.
  • Recruit, onboard, and coach staff; hold regular team meetings and individual check-ins.
  • Set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and address concerns with empathy and accountability.
  • Oversee scheduling and coverage within payroll expectations.
  • Collaborate with sister studio leadership to support consistency and shared team members.
Studio Culture & Member Experience
  • Be a visible, approachable leader who makes new and longtime members feel known and welcome.
  • Help new members establish a consistent routine.
  • Encourage connection through check-ins, milestone celebrations, and studio events.
  • Notice changes in attendance and engagement and coordinate thoughtful outreach.
  • Resolve member concerns professionally, balancing empathy with consistent studio policies.
Studio Operations
  • Work approximately four scheduled front desk shifts weekly, with additional time for management, coaching, and outreach.
  • Ensure daily sales, service, opening, and closing tasks are completed.
  • Maintain accurate ClubReady records and oversee membership administration, billing follow-up, and outstanding balances.
  • Keep the studio clean, organized, well-stocked, and inviting.
  • Oversee retail presentation and inventory; uphold brand standards and keep the owner informed.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2+ years of sales experience and previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Confidence selling, following up, and coaching others.
  • Ability to build team unity, provide feedback, and hold others accountable while maintaining positive relationships.
  • A warm, engaging presence and a passion for fitness and community.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and follow-through.
  • Comfort with sales data, computers, CRM systems, and social media; ClubReady experience is a plus.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and discretion.
  • A passion for Pure Barre and/or fitness and the community experience Pure Barre provides.
SCHEDULE & PERKS

This full-time, on-site role requires morning, evening, and weekend availability, plus special events and occasional coverage. Front desk shifts are part of the full-time workweek.

We offer a competitive base salary, sales commissions, performance-based bonus opportunities, ongoing training, a complimentary Pure Barre membership, and employee retail discounts.
