Java Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and work on high-performance, large scale distributed systems in a Linux environment. What’s in it for you? Our Group: The Optical Diagnostics and Control (ODC) Business Unit is a leading division within Applied Materials focused on developing advanced inspection and diagnostics solutions for semiconductor manufacturing. We work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, combining strong technical skills with the flexibility needed to keep up with changing industry needs. What you'll be doing: * As a member of this core team you will initiate, design and develop SW for the next generation defect detection product. * You will make important technical decisions, ensure scalability and performance of our applications. * You will create an innovative product and see it being launched. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering * 5+ years of related experience * Proficiency and experience in Java, Networking principles, Multi-threading * Experience in development on Linux with Docker containers and K8s * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills * Proven ability to design and implement complex software architectures, not just write code. * Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with a team Preferred Qualifications: * Proficiency in Python - an advantage * Experience in working with high-volume data. * Experience with inter-processing communication. * Master’s degree in a related field * Leadership skills to lead small projects as needed Who we are?
