Job Description: Press Tool Room Technician / Press Tool Maker Job Title: Press Tool Room Technician / Press Tool Maker/Die Fitters Department: Tool Room / Press Shop Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month Annual CTC: ₹4.2 – ₹5.4 LPA Experience: 4-6 yrs relevant experience in press tool making and maintenance Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Press Tool Room Technician / Press Tool Maker with hands-on expertise in assembling, maintaining, repairing, and trialling press tools. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of blanking, piercing, forming, progressive, and compound press tools, along with the ability to troubleshoot tool-related issues and ensure quality production. Key Responsibilities Build, assemble, maintain, and repair blanking, piercing, forming, progressive, and compound press tools. Check punch-die alignment, shut height, stripper operation, and ejector functioning before and during press trials. Perform regrinding, re-shimming, and necessary adjustments to punches and dies. Maintain die history cards, including production run counts, repair records, and maintenance details. Coordinate with the Quality team for first-piece approval and resolve burr, dimensional, and flatness issues at the tool level. Handle new die assembly and press trials, following engineering drawings and approved tool layouts. Identify and troubleshoot tooling defects to ensure smooth production and consistent product quality. Maintain proper tool room practices, including tool storage, housekeeping, and maintenance documentation. Safety and Compliance Follow lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and repair activities. Operate cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment safely while handling heavy dies. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Follow machine safety protocols and avoid loose clothing near operating machinery. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised tool room and die storage area. Required Skills and Qualifications Hands-on experience in press tool assembly, maintenance, repair, and trials. Good understanding of blanking, piercing, forming, progressive, and compound dies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tool layouts. Knowledge of punch-die clearances, alignment, regrinding, and shimming. Experience in troubleshooting burr, dimensional accuracy, and flatness issues. Strong focus on safety, quality, and preventive maintenance. Compensation ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month (₹4,20,000 – ₹5,40,000 CTC per annum), depending on experience and technical expertise.
