Passivation Technician

Location: Bonita Springs, FL 
Department: Passivation 
Reports To: Production Manager
Available Shifts:

• First Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Second Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Position Summary

The Operator is responsible for performing electropolishing operations on metal components in accordance with established work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures. This position supports daily production requirements while ensuring product quality, traceability, and compliance with company procedures. The Operator works closely with Production, Quality Control, and Passivation personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform electropolishing operations following approved procedures and work instructions.
• Prepare and inspect parts before and after electropolishing.
• Properly load and unload parts from electropolishing fixtures and racks.
• Monitor processing parameters to ensure compliance with established specifications.
• Handle components carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or cosmetic defects.
• Perform visual inspections to identify discoloration, stains, surface defects, or other abnormalities.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete job travelers.
• Follow established procedures for chemical handling and workplace safety.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, or process deviations to the supervisor or manager.
• Coordinate with Passivation, Quality Control, and Production departments to support workflow and production requirements.
• Assist with daily production priorities and ensure jobs are processed according to scheduling requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of electropolishing processes, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and established operating procedures.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and identify surface defects, contamination, discoloration, or processing abnormalities.
• Ability to maintain accurate production documentation, records, and job travelers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work safely with chemicals and comply with all safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support production objectives.
• Ability to communicate process, quality, or equipment concerns in a timely manner.

Education and Certification

• Education requirements: High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The Operator works in a manufacturing environment where chemical processing and metal finishing operations are performed. The employee is required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties. 
 
The position may require standing for extended periods, handling production components, operating processing equipment, and performing inspections throughout the production process. Employees are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
