Lead with Purpose. Build a Team. Make an Impact.

Are you an experienced mental health professional who is passionate about clinical excellence, developing talented therapists, and creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work?

Ellie Mental Health of Greater Manchester & Bedford is seeking a Clinical Director to lead our growing outpatient mental health practice in our Bedford location.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, collaborative leader who wants to make a meaningful impact—not only on the clients we serve, but also on the clinicians who provide that care.

As a locally owned and operated Ellie Mental Health franchise, we combine the resources and mission of a national organization with the personal attention, flexibility, and accessibility of local ownership.

We believe great clinical care starts with a healthy, supportive workplace. Our core values of authenticity, humor, compassion, creativity, acceptance, and determination guide everything we do.

About the Opportunity

As Clinical Director, you will oversee the clinical operations and continued development of our Bedford practice. You will work closely with ownership, our Manchester Clinical Director, and our administrative team to create an environment where clinicians feel supported, clients receive exceptional care, and the practice continues to grow.

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines clinical supervision, team development, operational oversight, and strategic collaboration.

Your primary responsibility will be leading and supporting our clinical team—not maintaining a large personal caseload. A limited clinical caseload may be incorporated based on the needs of the practice.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing clinical excellence with operational accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide visible, accessible, and supportive leadership to our Bedford clinical team.

  • Supervise pre-licensed clinicians in accordance with New Hampshire licensing requirements.

  • Support therapists with complex clinical cases, ethical concerns, crisis situations, and treatment planning.

  • Lead structured clinical consultation meetings and encourage collaboration among team members.

  • Promote high standards of clinical documentation, compliance, and quality of care.

Team Development & Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace where clinicians feel respected, valued, and heard.

  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retaining talented clinicians.

  • Provide meaningful coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

  • Establish clear expectations while holding team members compassionately accountable.

  • Maintain open communication and a consistent, approachable leadership presence.

Practice Operations & Growth

  • Partner with ownership and the Manchester leadership team to support the ongoing success of the Bedford location.

  • Monitor clinical productivity, caseload development, scheduling, and client access.

  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with administrative and billing teams to address challenges and improve processes.

  • Support community outreach, professional relationships, and referral development.

  • Help guide the sustainable growth of our Bedford practice while preserving a healthy workplace culture.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a mental health-related discipline.

  • Current independent clinical license in New Hampshire (LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist).

  • Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to provide effective clinical leadership in a dynamic outpatient environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and follow through on commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous clinical supervision or leadership experience.

  • Experience supervising pre-licensed mental health professionals.

  • Experience with outpatient mental health practice operations.

  • Familiarity with clinician productivity, caseload management, and clinical documentation standards.

  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing clinical teams.

  • An understanding of how clinical quality, employee satisfaction, and operational performance contribute to a successful practice.

Above all, we value emotional intelligence, sound judgment, accountability, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe exceptional leadership deserves competitive compensation and meaningful benefits.

  • $100,000 annual base salary

  • Performance-based bonus opportunity, with an estimated additional $10,000+ in annual compensation based on established performance criteria

  • Employer-sponsored health insurance, with employer contribution toward individual coverage equivalent to the average-rated Silver plan premium through the NH Health Insurance Marketplace

  • 15 days of Combined Time Off (CTO) annually

  • 10 paid holidays annually

  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% employer match

  • One month of additional paid leave upon reaching five years of employment, subject to company policy

  • Supportive local ownership and collaborative clinical leadership

  • Opportunity to help shape and grow an expanding practice

Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms, eligibility requirements, and company policies.
