Join RK Industries as a Senior Prevailing Wage Specialist, where you’ll help ensure accurate, compliant payroll across multiple states and more than 2,000 employees. You’ll oversee certified payroll reporting, support Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage requirements, and partner with Operations, General Contractors, and government agencies to keep projects compliant. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who understands prevailing wage regulations and enjoys improving processes in a fast-paced, growing organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage weekly certified payroll reporting for projects subject to the Davis-Bacon Act and other federal prevailing wage requirements.
  • Create and maintain craft/class templates, fringe schedules, and weekly payroll submissions, ensuring accuracy across 70+ prevailing wage projects.
  • Upload certified payroll transcripts into LCP Tracker, eMars, and eComply, and review, correct, and resubmit rejected reports as needed.
  • Partner with Operations, General Contractors, owners, and agencies to resolve prevailing wage questions, maintain accurate wage determinations, and track wage anniversaries.
  • Manage apprentice enrollments, renewals, and changes through the RAPIDS Department of Labor program, including required certificate uploads.
  • Support year-end and tax reconciliations, including taxable and gross wage tie-outs, W-2/W-2C/W-3 reporting, tax deposits, wage reports, and audit requests.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, annual surveys, fringe calculations, and reports for internal teams and external auditing agencies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of payroll overrides, shift and overtime differentials, pay codes, craft/class assignments, and journeyman-to-apprentice ratios.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk, increase productivity, and strengthen payroll processes and systems.
  • Develop payroll training documentation, identify and train designated backups, and mentor team members.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in payroll, certified payroll, Davis-Bacon, or prevailing wage administration.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Required experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage regulations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payroll and tax processes, including multi-state payroll requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including developing and maintaining detailed spreadsheets.
  • Experience with Viewpoint preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, exercise sound judgment, and recommend process improvements.

Have a voice. Take ownership of compliance processes and help improve systems that support payroll accuracy and reduce risk.

Work as one team. Collaborate with payroll, Operations, General Contractors, and external agencies to keep projects and reporting on track.

Grow your expertise. Strengthen your knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, certified payroll, and multi-state payroll processes while helping develop others on the team.
