SPED Tutor - Academic & Behavior Support

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Glendale, CA! • In-Person Tutoring in Glendale, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours a month, 2 sessions per week for 1.15hrs
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

• Experience supporting students with special education needs and individualized learning goals.
• Experience working with students who experience behavioral challenges, including difficulty with emotional regulation, attention, and task engagement.
• Skilled in proactive behavior management, positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and structured routines.
• Able to provide individualized instruction in English Language Arts, Algebra, and History.
• Experienced in using visual supports, graphic organizers, sentence starters, guided practice, and step-by-step instruction.
• Patient, calm, and adaptable, with the ability to build rapport and encourage participation through a positive, supportive approach.
• Experience supporting students receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is preferred.

• →Provide individualized academic support in English Language Arts, Math, and History based on the student's learning needs and IEP goals.
• →Support reading comprehension through guided reading, breaking passages into manageable sections, and using visual supports and comprehension checks.
• →Strengthen writing skills, including organizing ideas, forming complete sentences, developing paragraphs, and expressing thoughts clearly.
• →Use graphic organizers, sentence starters, writing models, and guided practice to improve written expression.
• →Provide step-by-step instruction in Algebra, using visual examples, repeated practice, and real-life applications to reinforce understanding.
• →Reinforce History concepts through structured explanations, guided reading, and comprehension activities.
• →Implement proactive behavior management strategies, positive reinforcement, and consistent routines to support attention and participation.
• →Provide appropriate breaks, choices between activities, and calm redirection when the student becomes frustrated or disengaged.
• →Follow established safety and behavior support procedures when the student attempts to leave the learning area or displays frustration-related behaviors.
• →Monitor academic progress and adjust instructional strategies to support learning, engagement, and independence.
• →Maintain communication with the family regarding progress, effective strategies, and areas requiring additional support.
