Engineer

As a member of the WLAN MAC Systems team, you will play a vital role in the development and implementation of MAC layer protocols based on IEEE 802.11 standards, including 802.11ax, 802.11ac, and legacy wireless technologies. Your role Key responsibilities in your new role Design, develop, enhance, and maintain WLAN L-MAC firmware using custom assembly language. Architect and implement system-level power optimization techniques to improve performance and energy efficiency. Perform pre-silicon MAC layer verification using scripting languages such as Python and Tcl, and validate functionality in simulation environments. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including PHY Systems, Firmware Development, and Hardware Design, to define, document, and verify L-MAC interfaces. Support silicon bring-up activities and ensure achievement of key MAC performance indicators (KPIs). Investigate, debug, and resolve complex customer issues spanning multiple layers, including WLAN MAC, PHY, and chipset domains, while maintaining a strong focus on root-cause analysis and solution delivery. Your profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed  Strong foundation in wireless communication systems and embedded systems design/programming. Hands-on experience with Assembly language and C programming. Proficient in debugging C applications, including the use of GDB, crash analysis, and stack trace investigation. Good understanding of Wi-Fi debugging tools such as Wireshark and related network analysis utilities. Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 wireless standards is highly desirable. Knowledge of scripting and modeling languages such as Tcl, Python, or SystemC would be an added advantage. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within large, global, cross-functional teams.
