Job Description: Purchase Coordinator – Stainless Steel Manufacturing Location: Santacruz East, Mumbai, Maharashtra Industry: Stainless Steel Manufacturing Experience Required: 1–2 Years in Manufacturing Salary: Up to ₹25,000 per month Job Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Coordinator for a stainless steel manufacturing company based in Santacruz East, Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating purchase activities, communicating with suppliers, following up on orders, maintaining purchase records, and ensuring the timely availability of materials required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, good communication and coordination skills, and the ability to manage purchase documentation and supplier follow-ups efficiently. Key Responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities and assist in procuring materials required for manufacturing operations. Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotations, check prices, and confirm material availability. Prepare and process purchase orders as per approved requirements. Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and avoid production delays. Coordinate with the production, stores, inventory, and accounts departments regarding material requirements and deliveries. Maintain purchase records, supplier details, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents. Assist in comparing vendor quotations based on price, quality, delivery timelines, and payment terms. Track pending orders and maintain records of order status and expected delivery dates. Coordinate with the stores team to verify material receipts and report shortages or discrepancies. Support vendor development and maintain professional relationships with existing suppliers. Ensure proper documentation and filing of all purchase-related transactions. Candidate Requirements Graduate in any discipline; candidates with a relevant diploma or qualification may also be considered. 1–2 years of relevant experience in purchase coordination or procurement within a manufacturing company. Experience in a metal, stainless steel, engineering, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environment will be an advantage. Basic understanding of purchase orders, vendor quotations, material requirements, and delivery follow-ups. Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office for maintaining purchase records and reports. Good communication, coordination, negotiation, and follow-up skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple purchase requirements. Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal departments. Compensation and Location Salary: Up to ₹25,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
