You'll be joining Decani, our EHS & Quality platform, one of Ideagen's key growth products. This highly configurable, workflow-driven SaaS solution supports enterprise, government, nuclear, energy, and compliance-focused organisations in managing critical operational, safety, and quality processes. 

 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll lead the delivery of complex features, influence technical direction and champion engineering best practices. You'll mentor other engineers, drive high-quality solutions and make a significant impact in a modern environment that embraces AI-assisted development.

• →Lead the design and delivery of complex software features, enhancements and technical initiatives that support product growth and customer outcomes. 

• →Provide technical leadership within the squad, helping engineers make sound design, architecture and implementation decisions. 

• →Establish and maintain high standards of engineering quality through code reviews, testing strategies and software design best practices. 

• →Mentor engineers across the team, helping improve technical capability, delivery effectiveness and engineering confidence. 

• →Review technical specifications and identify opportunities to improve scalability, reliability and long-term maintainability. 

• →Drive adoption of AI-assisted development approaches and share best practices that improve engineering productivity. 

• →Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives. 

• →Contribute to broader technical initiatives that improve platform quality, engineering effectiveness and customer outcomes. 

• Strong commercial software engineering experience delivering complex products, services or enterprise applications. 

• Deep understanding of software design, architecture and engineering best practices. 

• Experience owning technically challenging initiatives from concept through to production delivery. 

• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical standards within development teams. 

• Strong appreciation for software testing, maintainability, performance and engineering quality. 

• Experience working closely with Product teams to balance technical decisions with commercial priorities. 

• Experience in AI-assisted development practices and modern software delivery methodologies. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. 
• Strong Java backend development experience / Vue.js front-end experience

Therefore, for candidates living within a 35-mile radius of Nottingham, this role will follow a hybrid working pattern, with three days per week based in our Ruddington office.
