Kia ora,

Be a catalyst for transformation. Shape the future at PwC New Zealand.

At PwC, our purpose is clear: to build trust in society and solve important problems.

Join a high-performing, forward-thinking Assurance team where collaboration, innovation and fresh perspectives shape how we work. As part of New Zealand’s leading professional services firm, you’ll work with some of the country’s most recognised organisations, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful audit engagements across a diverse range of industries. Surrounded by talented colleagues and business leaders who champion our values of care, integrity and teamwork, you’ll have the opportunity to influence outcomes, develop others and help shape the future of Assurance.

Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role

We’re looking for an experienced audit professional to join our Assurance team as a Senior Manager in our Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland office.

In this full-time role (Monday to Friday, minimum 37.5 hours per week), you’ll take a leadership role in delivering high-quality external audit engagements, managing complex client relationships and contributing to the ongoing success of our Assurance practice. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how we work, champion audit quality and innovation, and develop the next generation of audit professionals.

This is an opportunity to bring your technical expertise and commercial perspective to a collaborative, ambitious team, while continuing to grow your leadership career and make a meaningful impact for our clients and the wider business community.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Leading complex statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion, taking ownership of delivery, quality, risk management and continuous improvement
  • Building public trust through the delivery of high-quality financial statement audits that strengthen financial integrity, transparency and confidence in our clients' reporting
  • Developing trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, understanding their commercial priorities and providing practical, value-adding insights that go beyond compliance
  • Leading, coaching and empowering high-performing teams, supporting the development of Managers and emerging talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture
  • Championing the use of advanced technology, data-driven insights and innovative approaches to enhance audit quality, efficiency and the client experience
  • Contributing to the growth and strategic direction of our Auckland Assurance practice, identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships, develop our people and continuously improve how we deliver audit services

Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role

  • 7+ years extensive external audit experience within a professional services environment, supported by strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting requirements and audit methodology
  • Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to lead complex engagements, navigate challenging matters and build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in non-financial services, particularly manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, consumer markets, retail, real estate and tech would be advantageous - although we welcome candidates with experience across other industries
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and colleagues, translating complex technical matters into clear, practical insights
  • A genuine passion for leading and developing people, with the ability to inspire high-performing teams, encourage collaboration and create an environment where others can thrive
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities, manage budgets and deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes
