About the Company

Accelo is a growth-oriented, private equity-backed SaaS company serving middle-market businesses with a Professional Services Automation platform. Backed by Bow River Capital (PE firm), we are on an accelerated growth trajectory and seeking a dynamic, data-driven marketing leader to help us scale our brand, pipeline, and customer base. Our platform is purpose-built for the complexity of middle-market organizations, and our marketing efforts must reflect the sophistication and value we bring to that segment.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Marketing will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, owning all aspects of marketing strategy and execution. This individual will be responsible for building a best-in-class marketing engine that drives measurable pipeline growth, supports the sales organization, and elevates brand authority in our target markets. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, with a deep understanding of the PE-backed SaaS operating environment and the middle-market buyer.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth

  • Architect and execute a full-funnel demand generation strategy that consistently delivers qualified pipeline to the sales team
  • Own MQL, SQL, and pipeline contribution targets; build a reporting cadence with clear attribution models
  • Develop and optimize multi-channel campaigns across paid media, email, content, webinars, and events
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to align on ICPs, messaging, and pipeline velocity metrics

SEO, GEO & AEO Strategy

  • Lead and evolve the company’s organic search strategy, including traditional SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
  • Ensure the company’s content and digital presence is optimized for discovery across both traditional search engines and AI-powered answer platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini)
  • Build a scalable framework for keyword strategy, topical authority, and structured content that wins in the evolving search landscape
  • Track and report on organic visibility, AI citation frequency, and search-driven pipeline contribution

Content Strategy & Thought Leadership

  • Build a content engine that establishes the company as the authoritative voice for middle-market buyers in the category
  • Oversee production of high-impact assets: whitepapers, case studies, blog content, video, webinars, and sales enablement collateral
  • Develop a content calendar aligned to buyer journey stages, seasonal trends, and product releases
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and customers to create authentic, insight-driven content

Events & Field Marketing

  • Own the company’s events strategy, including industry conferences, owned executive events, user conferences, and virtual programming
  • Partner with Sales to design targeted field marketing programs that accelerate opportunities in key accounts and regions
  • Measure ROI on all event investments and continuously optimize the portfolio based on pipeline impact

Sales Enablement & GTM Alignment

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CRO and Sales leadership, ensuring tight GTM alignment on messaging, plays, and target accounts
  • Develop and maintain a robust library of sales enablement materials, competitive intelligence, and buyer-centric messaging frameworks
  • Lead win/loss analysis and translate insights into actionable positioning and messaging updates

Brand & Market Positioning

  • Define and evolve the company’s brand identity, positioning, and messaging across all channels and audiences
  • Own analyst relations, PR, and thought leadership programs that raise the company’s profile in the middle-market SaaS category
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and market trends; translate insights into strategic positioning advantages
  • Analyze the ICP and corresponding value proposition, and build positioning and branding accordingly

Team & Budget Leadership

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing team, including direct hires and agency/contractor relationships
  • Manage the marketing budget with a PE-grade focus on ROI, efficiency, and scalable investment
  • Establish OKRs and KPIs across the marketing function; present results to executive leadership and board as needed

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a VP or senior director-level marketing leadership role
  • Proven track record in a PE-backed SaaS organization, with a clear understanding of PE growth expectations, EBITDA sensitivity, and board-level reporting
  • Deep experience marketing to and for the middle-market customer segment
  • Demonstrated success in demand generation with measurable pipeline outcomes
  • Proven SaaS commercialization experience, including taking new products, modules, or offerings to market; shaping pricing and packaging; and translating product capabilities into revenue-generating GTM programs
  • Strong background in Account-Based Marketing (ABM), with a track record of designing and scaling ABM programs that engage buying committees, accelerate deal velocity, and expand revenue within target accounts
  • Demonstrated success applying AI across the marketing function (e.g., content production, personalization, intent and predictive analytics, campaign optimization, and workflow automation) with measurable gains in efficiency and pipeline
  • Hands-on expertise in SEO, with an evolving understanding of GEO and AEO in the context of AI-driven discovery
  • Experience owning and executing a content strategy that drives measurable organic and inbound results
  • Proven ability to plan and execute corporate events, trade shows, and field marketing programs
  • Strong track record of partnering with Sales organizations to drive GTM alignment and revenue impact
  • Experience managing and scaling marketing teams and budgets

Preferred

  • Experience with horizontal SaaS platforms serving middle-market companies
  • Familiarity with ABM platforms, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools
  • Experience through a PE-backed company’s growth stage to exit (IPO, strategic sale, or continuation fund)
  • Exposure to traditional enterprise/mid-market sales
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership and, ideally, a private equity board

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $140,000 - $150,000 + bonus
  • Annual performance bonus tied to company and individual objectives
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible time off policy
  • 10 company holidays
