DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC JOB SUMMARY

The Department of Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering seeks a Post Doctoral Associate to develop and characterize nanoporous materials, including metal-organic frameworks (MOF), covalent organic frameworks (COF), and zeolite, for photocatalytic water purification and contaminant removal. The postdoctoral associate will generate preliminary data for publications and external funding proposals and support student research training.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

1.     Design and synthesize MOFs, COFs, zeolite and other porous materials for photocatalysis.

2.     Characterize materials using X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy, adsorption measurements, and other appropriate methods.

3.     Plan and execute experiments; analyze data, assess structure-property relationships, and maintain reproducible protocols.

4.     Generate preliminary results for external grant proposals; prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations.

5.     Mentor students in experimental techniques, data analysis, and troubleshooting; collaborate across disciplines.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
