Junior Accountant

Red Ember Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Accountant on behalf of our client, a reputable organisation within the short-term insurance industry, based in Tygervalley, Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting graduate with at least one year of working experience to join a deadline-driven finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the full accounting function up to trial balance, assisting with reconciliations, processing financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial allocations. Prepare, process and capture journals. Handle importing, exporting and processing transactions up to trial balance. Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Process Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs). Reconcile income and payments reflected on bank statements against the cashbook. Ensure accurate account, cost centre and company allocations. Check and verify invoices for accuracy. Respond to financial queries and resolve discrepancies. Work collaboratively within a finance team to meet strict deadlines. Requirements Degree in Accounting. Minimum of 1 year's relevant working experience. Experience within the financial services industry will be advantageous. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of accounting systems. Tial experience will be advantageous
