Job Summary

The Full Time Cleaner will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and all waste areas.
Inspect and clean all windows and window frames, both interior and exterior.
Detail clean all baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails throughout the facility. Must ensure that all surfaces are free of handprints, scuff marks, and dust.
All air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors, and light fixtures must be dusted and cleaned.
Assist in front desk operations as needed, including use of Point of Sale.
Follow cleaning lists and other assigned tasks.
Trash from all waste areas must be removed or “pushed down”.
All rubber or tile flooring must be cleaned throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment with the use of a vacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
Use and knowledge of operating floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
Communicate with members and create a high level of member service.
All storage rooms must remain clean and organized and products properly arranged on shelving racks. All loose boxes and trash must be discarded.
Notify club management if inventory for cleaning supplies is low and needs replenishment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Custodial experience is preferred.
Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality skills.
Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.
Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.

Physical Demands

Continual standing and walking during shift.
Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift.
Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
