VIATechnik is on a mission to lead the built environment in creating a better future, today. We are one team of over 500 digital experts around the globe. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed architects, engineers, tradespersons, researchers, and business leaders. Together, we empower clients through high-quality, high-velocity experiences that consistently improve outcomes across the design, construction, and operations of buildings and infrastructure. Our clients include Amazon, Mars Wrigley, and National Geographic, the firms shaping the world's most ambitious projects.

Role overview:

The VDC Director leads the strategic direction, delivery, technology enablement, and growth of VIATechnik's Virtual Design and Construction practice across multiple client portfolios. You will oversee the delivery systems, digital workflows, and operational frameworks that make high-quality execution scalable, and drive continuous improvement through technology, automation, and data-driven decision making. You will lead managers, BIM specialists, and cross-functional teams while maintaining strong financial performance across revenue, margins, utilization, and forecasting.
You will also work with senior client stakeholders, translating technical and business challenges into strategic solutions and guiding technology-enabled transformation that improves operational performance and client outcomes. Across the practice, you will advance innovation, strengthen digital capabilities, and establish the standards, playbooks, and best practices that reinforce VIATechnik's leadership in digital construction.

  • Purpose: you will shape how digital construction is practiced, both inside VIATechnik and across the clients we serve. The standards, delivery frameworks, and data strategies you set will determine how predictably projects get built and how much value owners keep after handover.
  • Growth: this is a senior leadership seat. You will guide a multi-disciplinary organization, partner directly with executive stakeholders, and run initiatives that scale across clients and portfolios, with a clear path toward broader operational, innovation, or enterprise leadership as VIATechnik expands its services and market presence.
  • Motivators: if you are energized by building scalable systems, developing strong leaders, and advising clients on where technology and data can take their projects, this role puts all three in front of you. You will set enterprise standards, steer digital transformation across very different client environments, and see the results in the field.

  • Define and advance an enterprise VDC strategy that brings VDC upstream into preconstruction and carries consistent standards through delivery and operations, producing measurable gains in predictability, cost, schedule, and field performance for enterprise clients.
  • Turn unclear or shifting client needs into clearly scoped, deliverable-driven projects with the right team, defined milestones, and quality checkpoints, so every engagement closes out against the outcomes it was set up to deliver.
  • Grow VIATechnik's most strategic client relationships as their senior sponsor, expanding scope and long-term partnerships through consistent delivery and executive trust.
  • Own operational and financial performance across the VDC portfolio, delivering predictable revenue, disciplined margins, and healthy utilization while improving delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Bring emerging technologies, Lean principles, and new delivery approaches into the practice, adopting the ones that create measurable value for clients and internal teams.

  • 10+ years of experience in AECO BIM/VDC, including hands-on technical roles, and have led a VDC or BIM practice across multiple teams and client portfolios, with accountability for revenue, margin, and utilization.
  • Worked across the full project lifecycle, from design through construction and into operations, and understand the roles and needs of owners, designers, contractors, and facility teams at each phase.
  • Experience turning vague problems into a scoped engagement with clear outcomes during executive conversations with an owner or general contractor.
  • Have built standards, playbooks, or delivery frameworks that other teams adopted and kept using.
  • Follow where construction technology and data are heading and can tell a client which changes are worth adopting now.

This role is suited for a leader who operates effectively in a dynamic professional services environment requiring strategic judgment, operational discipline, and strong interpersonal influence. The Director must balance execution demands with long-term priorities, lead through change, and build systems and teams that sustain performance, innovation, and client value.

This role offers the opportunity to lead VIATechnik's VDC practice at scale, build a high-performing organization, and influence the advancement of digital construction while contributing to long-term company growth and professional impact.
