Acutronic is looking for a Buyer II who will independently manage assigned purchasing and material requirements for new product introductions (NPI), engineering development, prototype builds, qualification and approved product changes. This role owns follow-through from requirement clarification through availability of the correct quantity and revision, with required acceptance and documentation.

Buyer II

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Translate approved bills of material, build plans and engineering requirements into assigned purchasing actions. Confirm quantities, revisions, required-at-use dates and lead times with Engineering and Planning; identify missing information and long-lead exposure early
  • Obtain quotations, compare price and delivery, and source prototype materials, components and outside services. Recommend suitable suppliers and coordinate required Engineering and Quality qualification before use
  • Issue and amend accurate purchase orders within approved scope and written delegation. Include applicable technical, quality and customer flow-downs; obtain supplier acknowledgment of requirements and delivery commitments
  • Negotiate routine commercial terms and delivery arrangements within established authority. Maintain accurate ERP records and resolve ordinary purchase-order, receipt and invoice discrepancies with the responsible functions
  • Expedite both external and internal work. Verify actual supplier progress through relevant manufacturing, outside processing, inspection and shipment steps; pursue technical answers, approvals, receiving actions and acceptance decisions needed to keep work moving
  • Resolve ordinary constraints using established options such as partial deliveries, approved sources, available inventory and authorized transport. Compare incremental cost with schedule benefit and escalate significant exposure, uncertain requirements or threatened milestones promptly
  • Implement straightforward approved engineering changes on purchase orders and supplier instructions. Confirm revision acknowledgment and effectivity; identify effects on supplier work in process, inventory and kits, and elevate complex rework, cancellation or obsolete-material exposure
  • Complete cross-training and personally perform authorized receiving transactions, inventory verification, material movement, kitting, shipping and build or test preparation. Perform additional RRT tasks when trained, qualified and authorized by the responsible function; maintain required records and system access
  • Coordinate missing certificates, supplier nonconformances, returns, corrective actions and replacement material through closure. Obtain the designated technical disposition and Quality acceptance before material is released for use
  • Participate in RRT readiness and recovery reviews, follow assigned priorities and maintain clear handoffs for Friday or off-shift coverage. Escalate competing assignments to the RRT leader and Head of Operations before they affect agreed commitments
  • Prepare the purchasing and material portion of the transition to sustaining production: supplier contacts, approved sources, lead times, terms, replenishment information, open orders, inventory status and unresolved actions with named owners. Support acceptance of the handoff by the receiving organization

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field, from an accredited college or university, preferred
  • Five years of relevant purchasing, inventory, and supplier management experience, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage routine purchasing and material requirements independently through completion, normally developed through two to five years of relevant purchasing, inventory or supplier-management experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • CPIM or CSCP certification, a plus
  • Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing, prototype builds, NPI, outside processing or changing engineering requirements
  • Practical experience using purchasing or inventory systems, obtaining supplier commitments, resolving delivery or receiving problems and maintaining accurate records

We Offer:

  • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k match
  • Company-paid holidays and Paid Time Off
  • 4/10 schedule

The Acutronic Group has a proud history of building technologies and teams that are crucial to the aerospace, defense, and transportation industries.

Acutronic’s Simulation & Test Division is the global market leader in high-performance motion simulation and test equipment. Our rate tables and advanced centrifuges are used to test or calibrate inertial sensors, navigation systems, and stabilized electro-optics. Hardware-In-the-Loop motion simulators replicate the flight motion profiles and engagement scenarios of missiles. Geotechnical centrifuges and their related accessories are designed to study the behavior of structures, soil mechanics, and earthquakes. Our vibration test systems (shaker tables) allow users to carry out environmental tests to ensure the robustness or quality of manufactured products. The Division also develops and refurbishes stabilized or gimbaled-platforms utilized in applications such as tracking mounts, gun turrets, and directed-energy systems.

Acutronic’s Aerospace Components Division manufactures specialty components for use on uncrewed aerial vehicles, land defense applications, and missile systems. These products are used on next-generation aerospace programs and include a range of electric power systems, servo-actuators, micro-turbines, and Hybrid-Electric-Propulsion-Systems. We offer standard products and excel at designing highly customized solutions for demanding mission requirements.
