About Commonwealth Fusion Systems:
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.
Combining decades of research, top talent, and new technologies, we’re designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. And we're working with policymakers, suppliers, and many others to build the energy industry of the future.
We’re in the best position to make it happen. Since 2018, we’ve raised $4 billion of capital, making us the largest and leading fusion company in the world.
Now we’re looking for more thinkers, doers, builders, and makers to join us. People who’ll bring new perspectives, solve tough problems, and thrive as part of a team.
If that’s you and this role fits, we want to hear from you.
Join the power movement as a Mechanical or Magnet Engineering Intern
We are looking for talented Mechanical and Magnet Engineering Interns to join our team! CFS interns are highly valued within the organization and placed into meaningful and challenging roles.
We currently have multiple openings for the Mechanical or Magnet Engineering Internship. Please note that the following list encompasses all available roles, so individual responsibilities will vary depending on the specific position:
- Tooling and Hardware Design - Accelerate magnet production and SPARC assembly via design, first principles analysis, and rapid prototyping
- Multiphysics and Structural Analysis - Develop optimization tools and perform design optimization and cost reduction for next generation magnet systems and tokamak structures
- Prototyping and Next-Gen Architecture Optimization - Fabricate and iterate on next-generation designs to inform design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) trade studies, cost reduction, and commercialization of fusion systems
