Internal Communications:

  • →Support content, structure, and delivery of internal meetings (e.g., all-hands, executive roundtables, strategic briefings).
  • →Execute consistent messaging across employee channels (intranet, newsletters, all-hands meetings, video, etc.).

Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership:

  • →Support the VP in preparing speeches, talking points, op-eds, executive briefings, and interview preparation materials for high-profile opportunities, including research on media outlets, reporters, audiences, likely questions, and relevant issues so executives are well prepared for interviews.

External Communications & Public Relations:

  • →Support development and distribution of press releases, bylined articles, media responses, media monitoring, and analysis of coverage quality, sentiment, message penetration, competitive narratives, and emerging issues.
  • →Own media database with key reporter and outlet profiles.

Corporate Websites & Digital Channels:

  • →Execute the content creation and posting across Gevo’s corporate websites and social media.
  • →Own content ownership, approval workflows, publishing standards, and review cadences to keep digital content current, consistent, and compliant.
  • →Use website analytics, search performance, and audience behavior to improve content and measure effectiveness.
  • →Own social media metrics and reporting.
  • →HubSpot management on website and newsletter development for new site.

Crisis, Issues & Reputation Management:

  • →Maintain communications playbooks for operational incidents, cybersecurity events, litigation, workforce actions, executive transitions, project developments, and misinformation.
  • →Monitor emerging reputational risks and advise executive leadership on communications implications, response options, and stakeholder considerations in coordination with the appropriate functional owners.

Integrated Communications Planning & Editorial Governance:

  • →Develop and manage an integrated enterprise communications calendar covering business announcements, earnings, executive visibility, employee communications, events, and external campaigns.
  • →Maintain an accessible archive of approved statements, press releases, interviews, executive materials, images, video, and reusable corporate content, supported by clear fact-verification and quality-control standards.

Investor Relations Communications Support:

  • →Monitor media and stakeholder response to financial disclosures and investor-facing announcements and recommend communications follow-up as appropriate.

Strategic Planning, Budget Management & KPIs:

  • →Measure and report on message penetration, quality and relevance of coverage, share of voice, website and social engagement, employee understanding, executive visibility, and reputation indicators, translating results into recommendations for leadership.

Team Support:

  • →Trade show and event logistics.
  • →Tracking post-event ROI with follow up to sales and commercial team to ensure follow-up happens.
  • A communications and PR professional with 8–10+ years of experience across corporate communications, media relations, internal communications, and marketing.
  • Experience driving communications, marketing, and PR for a publicly traded company. You know how earnings cycles, disclosure requirements, and legal and IR review shape what gets said, when it gets said, and by whom.
  • Background and industry knowledge in low-carbon fuels, renewables, agriculture, petrochemicals, or conventional energy & power is highly preferred. You can communicate with confidence about the industry and its policy landscape.
  • A self-starter who works well in an agile, fast-moving environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. You are just as comfortable rolling your sleeves owning day-to-day tasks, as you are getting involved in high-level strategy.
  • A strong writer and editor who adapts easily across formats, from press releases, bylines, and op-eds to executive talking points, social posts, newsletters, and web copy.
  • Experienced in media relations, with established reporter relationships or the ability to build them quickly, and a working knowledge of media monitoring and coverage analysis – ideally with relevant industry publications.
  • Digitally fluent, with hands-on experience managing corporate websites and social channels. HubSpot and Canva experience are preferred. You use analytics to measure what works and adjust.
  • You do not need to be a designer, but you know enough about design to give clear creative direction, judge quality, and manage outsourced agency and freelance design work to deliver on brand, on time, and on budget.
  • Calm and sound under pressure. You’ve supported issues and crisis communications and know when to escalate, how to coordinate with legal and functional owners, and how to protect the company’s reputation.
  • Highly organized. You can manage several priorities at once, including the communications calendar, content archive, event logistics, and post-event follow-up with sales and commercial teams.
  • Data-minded and focused on results. You measure share of voice, engagement, and message penetration, and you turn the numbers into practical recommendations.
  • Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information, and a collaborator who works well with executives, investor relations, legal, HR, and commercial teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
