Psych Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Pool - Nights - Psych ED

Labor Pool Nights requires 4 12-hour shifts (7p-7a) within a 6 week scheduled period. 2 of the shifts need to be on the weekend and you will need to work one summer and one winter holiday a year.

• →Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served in the Emergency Services units/departments (see unit specific competencies and equipment checklists).
• →Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence-based practice and quality measures.
• → Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension. Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver. Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents
• →Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• →Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems to meet need.

• Program Graduate, Nursing (Required)
• Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)

• 1 year Nursing experience in a behavioral health setting  (Preferred)
• 2 years  Registered Nursing (Preferred)

• Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP)   (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
• ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)   within 180 Days (Preferred)
•  Specialty certification in field (Preferred)
