About the role

As a Project Controller, you will be a key member of the project controls team, responsible for providing accurate, timely, and insightful cost management across multiple projects.

You will work closely with Worley Location Managers, Project Managers, engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams to ensure that all project cost-related matters are transparent and in control.

The role is based at Worley’s office in New Plymouth or Christchurch, and you will be co-located and supported by the Worley Project Services team.

What you'll do

  • Lead cost control and analysis across a small project portfolio, in line with Worley and client standards, systems, and procedures

  • Prepare, review, and validate budgets, forecasts, and cost reports, including internal resource and financial forecasts

  • Monitor commitments, actuals, trends, and estimates to complete; analyse variances and recommend corrective actions

  • Provide clear cost advice to Project Managers, assess change impacts, and contribute to project reviews

  • Prepare project invoices with the Accounts Department and ensure payment in line with contract terms

About you

You are a confident project controls professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, delivery‑focused environment.  You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to communicate and consult with stakeholders at all levels.

You will ideally have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline

  • several years experience in cost control, cost analysis, or project controls within engineering, construction, or resources projects

  • Some experience with project scheduling / planning is desirable, but not required.

  • Skills and experience with project cost management systems, forecasting, and reporting

  • Experience supporting project portfolios

  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with project management and internal stakeholders.

  • Permanent residency within New Zealand.

Why apply?

  • Be part of a global organisation delivering a more sustainable future

  • Work on complex and meaningful projects across energy, resources, and low‑carbon sectors

  • A collaborative, inclusive culture where people are valued and supported
