The LPN prepares patients and rooms for examinations, assists with procedures, and provides patient education and follow-up instructions within scope. Working closely with the care team, the LPN helps manage patient flow, responds to messages and refill requests under provider direction, and may direct the work of medical assistants and aides. Accurate documentation in the electronic health record supports continuity, care coordination, and safe outpatient care.

Completion of an accredited practical nursing program leading to LPN/LVN eligibility is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in an ambulatory or physician practice setting is preferred.

One to two years of nursing experience is preferred, ideally in an ambulatory or outpatient setting. New graduates of an accredited practical nursing program may be considered.

Current, unencumbered state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) license is required. Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN examination is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Skilled in ambulatory nursing care within the LPN scope. Accurate vital sign measurement, medication and immunization administration, and specimen collection. Ability to room patients, prepare rooms, and assist with office procedures. Strong patient education and clear communication. Efficient support of patient flow in a busy clinic.
