Here is an opportunity to shape the future of quality at CHEP New Zealand, by building a culture of accountability and ownership that embeds quality into every aspect of our operations.

We're looking for a leader who can strengthen quality across the business, build trusted relationships and influence positive change to achieve better outcomes.

As part of the New Zealand Supply Chain Leadership Team, you'll lead CHEP New Zealand's quality strategy and Quality Management System across our end to end supply chain, partnering with Service Centres, logistics teams, suppliers, customers and key stakeholders.

This isn't a traditional Quality Manager role focused purely on audits and reporting. We're seeking someone who enjoys getting out on the floor, identifying opportunities for improvement, solving problems collaboratively, and influencing meaningful change across the business. You'll combine strong quality expertise with commercial awareness and a practical, hands on approach.

You will play a key role in lifting capability, creating clarity around expectations and building ownership for quality across the business.

You'll be responsible for:

  • →Defining clear and practical quality standards and expectations
  • →Providing visible leadership and translating strategy into action
  • →Building credibility and influencing outcomes across the organisation
  • →Developing strong partnerships with customers and key stakeholders
  • →Maintaining high standards while supporting continuous improvement
  • →Leading and improving CHEP New Zealand's Quality Management System
  • →Driving quality performance across Service Centres, logistics and supply chain partners
  • →Building capability and accountability across leaders and teams
  • →Leading investigations, root cause analysis and improvement initiatives
  • →Supporting audits, certification requirements and compliance activities

You'll be someone who:

  • Brings energy, curiosity and a passion for improvement
  • Is comfortable engaging people at all levels of the organisation
  • Can influence without direct authority and create commitment to change
  • Builds credibility and strong working relationships quickly
  • Maintains high standards while working collaboratively with others
  • Simplifies complex quality requirements and makes them practical
  • Is equally comfortable developing strategy and solving operational issues
  • Uses data and insight to drive meaningful improvement

You'll have experience leading quality, compliance and operational excellence within a complex operational or manufacturing environment. You'll also have experience improving quality systems, leading audits and investigations, and delivering results through collaboration.

A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred although not essential, with experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or asset intensive operations highly regarded. Qualifications or experience in ISO 9001, Lead Auditor, HACCP, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence would be advantageous.

You’ll bring a practical, solutions focused approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work closely with operational teams.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to create clarity around what great quality looks like, strengthen capability and accountability, and help embed quality into the way we work every day.

If you're an experienced quality leader who combines technical credibility with influence, the ability to balance this alongside customer needs and operational demands, together with a passion for continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.
