Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Childcare Assistant Teacher for our Growing Up At Obici childcare center.

Full-Time Mon - Fri 40 hours / week

The Assistant Teacher Is knowledgeable of developmental early childhood methods and is responsible for assisting the teacher in the care and learning of children and developing lesson plans while following the curriculum. The Assistant Teacher assists with day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This is a great opportunity for creativity and impacting children positively in their early years. High School diploma or equivalent (Required)

College level course work in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, psychology, or completion of Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). (Preferred)

Driver's License - Certification - Other/National
Food Handlers Card - Certification - Food Service Certification w/in 90 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI w/in 30 days of hire
