We are seeking a hands-on Lead Product Manager to define and scale AI-powered experiences across a two-sided home services marketplace. As the first dedicated core AI Product Manager, you will own the strategy and roadmap for conversational AI, autonomous agents, and intelligent workflows serving both consumers and service professionals. You will turn AI interactions into meaningful actions, enabling users to book, reschedule, or manage services directly through conversations and existing product experiences. You will also establish the evaluation frameworks, quality standards, and safety guardrails needed to deploy reliable AI at scale. Working across Product, Engineering, Applied Science, Design, Data, Customer Support, and Operations, you will lead through influence in a fast-moving environment. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who enjoys building AI products from the ground up and delivering measurable results to real users.

You will own the end-to-end product direction for AI-powered interactions, ensuring that intelligent experiences improve service quality, operational efficiency, and retention for both sides of the marketplace. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define and own the AI product roadmap, prioritizing consumer and service professional experiences based on business impact, user needs, and technical feasibility.

  • Lead the development of conversational AI experiences that answer customer questions and complete real-world tasks, including booking, skipping, and rescheduling services.

  • Own AI-powered experiences within the service professionals' mobile application, helping providers manage their work and reduce administrative effort.

  • Integrate agentic capabilities into existing consumer and professional workflows so AI can take meaningful actions beyond traditional chat interfaces.

  • Shape customer-to-professional messaging experiences and improve communication between both sides of the marketplace.

  • Design effective escalation and handoff processes between AI assistants and human support teams, ensuring conversations retain their context and customers do not need to repeat information.

  • Define how external AI agents, including platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude, can interact with the marketplace on behalf of customers while preserving user control and appropriate permissions.

  • Establish evaluation frameworks, quality benchmarks, and testing processes to measure AI performance, identify failure patterns, and determine when experiences are ready for release.

  • Design safety guardrails and action controls that determine when AI can act independently, when user confirmation is required, and how errors should be handled.

  • Analyze conversation transcripts, user feedback, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and continuously refine AI experiences.

  • Collaborate with engineering, applied science, design, data, customer service, and operations teams to deliver reliable solutions across existing product surfaces.

  • Account for the broader marketplace impact of product decisions, including implications for customers, service professionals, pricing, and operations.

  • Measure success through AI resolution rates, customer satisfaction, action accuracy, professional productivity, and consumer and provider retention.

The ideal candidate is an experienced product leader who has launched AI-powered products used by real customers and understands the complexity of deploying autonomous systems in live environments. You should combine strong product judgment, technical fluency, data-driven prioritization, and a hands-on approach to quality and execution.

  • At least 6 years of product management experience, including a minimum of 3 years launching AI products for internal or external users.

  • Experience managing consumer-facing products, supported by a bachelor's degree in business, analytics, engineering, design, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven track record of launching AI products used by real end users in B2C, B2B, or B2B2C environments.

  • Hands-on experience launching and managing production chatbots or conversational AI systems, beyond prototypes, demonstrations, or basic prompt-based implementations.

  • Ability to analyze conversation transcripts, identify interaction failures, and translate findings into product improvements.

  • Practical experience designing and writing AI evaluations (evals), defining quality benchmarks, and determining whether an AI experience is ready for production.

  • Strong understanding of AI agents and tool use, including the implications of allowing AI systems to execute actions within real-world applications and workflows.

  • Ability to design appropriate safeguards, permissions, confirmation steps, and error-handling processes for autonomous actions.

  • Strong data-driven product strategy skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, justify trade-offs, and make decisions based on measurable evidence.

  • Systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to anticipate the wider effects of product changes across interconnected users, workflows, pricing, and operations.

  • Experience in marketplace products is beneficial, particularly where changes affecting one user group have consequences for another.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence rather than direct people management.

  • Comfort working independently in a lean environment, including building evaluation frameworks and product standards from the ground up.

  • Willingness to work hands-on across product strategy, specifications, testing, quality analysis, and execution rather than operating solely at a strategic level.
