Data Compliance Specialist

Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Data Compliance Specialist to join our team in Cape Town.

• →Address and escalate Data Subject requests via all applicable incoming channels.
• →Engage with relevant stakeholders to resolve tracking of data requests.
• →Conduct eligibility checks for Data requests.
• →Provide ideas/actions to drive process & system improvement about data subject contacts across the Takealot.group
• →Manage/adhere all SLAs about POPI data requests.
• →Carry out internal audit procedures regularly about internal compliance practices including SOPs & Policy changes for new and existing features across brands.
• →Review and identify data subject information to support the Information Officer.
• →Work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk.

• Senior Certificate or Higher
• Minimum 2 years of strong experience in a specialist role
• Excel, SQL, Zendesk experience
• Experience in e-commerce, start-up, tech, or platform environment 
• Complaints handling 

• Customer Obsessed.
• Pragmatic & Organised.
• Strong prioritisation and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
• Stakeholder management is a plus! 

• Solutions-oriented - you have a can-do attitude and high energy.
• Iterative & innovative thinking - a love for problem-solving, keen to learn, and ability to think on your feet.
• Comfortable in a start-up environment – fast-paced, dynamic, with many uncertainties!
