Lead RN Acute Care - Emergency Room

Kettering Health Main Campus | Kettering | Full-Time | 12 Hour Shift Varied

The Lead RN Acute Care provides clinical leadership and coordination for nursing staff in an acute care setting, supporting high-quality patient care, safety, and operational reliability. This role guides care delivery, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program

• Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• All required credentials must be maintained in good standing throughout employment

• Demonstrated clinical expertise in acute care nursing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and delegate tasks effectively
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably Epic
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards
• Ability to facilitate team collaboration and staff development

• Nursing competencies are based on ACHC standards or department specific needs/specialties

• Guide and support nursing staff in daily clinical operations
• Facilitate team communication and conflict resolution
• Champion quality and safety initiatives within the unit
• Provide informal feedback and contribute to peer evaluations
• Support staff development and promote a culture of continuous improvement

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field

• Previous experience in a charge, lead, or supervisory nursing role

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or other specialty certification
