Shipping-Receiving Clerk

Shipping-Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments in the warehouse.

• →Responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments
• →Prepare items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality/productivity standards, while ensuring that all shipments are properly labeled and packaged.
• →Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• →Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• →Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• →Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• →Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• →Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• →Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
• →All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

• Comfortable working autonomously.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
• Competent in maintaining accurate and organized records.
• Basic knowledge of computers programs for entering data.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Time-management skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience

• Warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Requires extended periods of standing and walking.
• Requires bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching.

• Must be 18 years of age
