Clarventa is adding a new position, the Director, GPO Strategic Accounts to join our team!

The Director, GPO Strategic Accounts is responsible for leading and managing high-impact relationships across health systems and specialty pharmacy clients within our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). This leader will drive strategic growth, strengthen client partnerships, ensure client satisfaction, and identify opportunities to expand the value and services we provide across our customer base.

This role operates at the intersection of strategic account management, business development, and sales strategy. The Director will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing account management function while establishing the structure, processes, and expectations necessary to successfully retain and grow strategic accounts. This individual will bring strong commercial instincts, an understanding of the sales lifecycle, and the ability to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities that deepen client relationships and drive organizational growth.

The Director will oversee the implementation of value-based initiatives and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align solutions and services with client goals, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives. This leader will also partner with a direct report focused on business development and will have responsibility for or involvement in inside sales, RFP development, client presentations, pipeline development, and new business opportunities.

A critical component of this role is building long-term, trusted relationships with pharmacy and healthcare leaders. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to clients, gaining an understanding of their business priorities and challenges and translating those needs into opportunities for mutual value. The position will play an important role in fostering innovation, operational excellence, client retention, organic growth, and long-term partnership success.

Success requires exceptional people and relationship-management skills. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and influential leader who can navigate complex client relationships, collaborate effectively across functions, coach and develop a team, and balance a consultative client approach with a strong commercial mindset.

Candidates must bring experience calling on pharmacies and/or managing payer accounts, with demonstrated success growing strategic client relationships. Experience within a payer, PBM, health plan, specialty pharmacy, health system, or pharmacy GPO environment.
