This part time position pays $19.00 per hour.

Job Summary:
OGX is seeking a Porter to support the cleanliness, presentation, and overall upkeep of the experience. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for Guests and Team Members by ensuring all public-facing and back-of-house areas meet company standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Help keep the location clean, safe, and welcoming to Guests
  • Maintain cleanliness of the exhibit including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down exhibits and surfaces, and removing trash throughout the venue
  • Keep exhibits clean and free of smudges, fingerprints, and debris
  • Maintain restrooms to show standards, including routine checks and restocking supplies
  • Maintain Cafe front and back of house cleanliness in compliance with NYC food safety regulations and food handler requirements, ensuring sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain the team member break area by ensuring tables and surfaces are clean, replenishing necessary supplies, replacing water cooler bottles as needed, and regularly cleaning the refrigerator to maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all team members.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of high-traffic and high-touch areas throughout assigned shifts
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing cleaning checklists as assigned
• Stock and maintain cleaning supplies and materials throughout the venue
• Perform light facility upkeep and basic non-technical support tasks as needed
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns to leadership promptly
• Support other departments as needed to ensure the best possible Guest experience
• Assist with venue opening and closing duties related to cleanliness and presentation
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in standing and moving positions more than 80% of the time
• Must be able to move about inside the exhibit and venue spaces
• Constantly positions self to clean and maintain exhibit areas
• Frequently lifts and moves items and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Your Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, porter, or facilities support roles is a plus
• Experience working in public-facing or hospitality environments preferred
