Enhance the lives of older Australians by joining the Life Without Barriers team. Guided by every client’s individual needs and interests, our personalised in-home Aged Care services focus on empowering every person to maintain their home comforts, health, and connections within their community.

Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers. Join a community of people dedicated to breaking down barriers.

We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.

About the Role

~1 min read

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Brisbane to allow them to continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients’ homes in Balmoral, Moorooka, Holland Parl, Mount Gravett, Aspley and Middle Park supporting multiple people each day, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01c per KM travelled while you are working).

We have two permanent part-time opportunities, each offering 20 hours per fortnight. Enjoy the benefit of Monday to Friday work only, with no evening or overnight shifts. School hours may be negotiable for the right candidate, providing greater flexibility to support work-life balance. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to make a positive impact in their community, while developing their skills, gaining valuable experience and building a rewarding career.

At Life Without Barriers we consider gender a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, and so we ask that only Female applicants apply.
