Psychiatrist (MD/DO) - Remote

BetterHelp is a technology-enabled mental health marketplace that connects patients with therapists and psychiatric providers covered by their insurance plans. By bringing patients, providers, and insurers together, we aim to remove barriers to care and help more people find the right support for their needs.

You’ll provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a convenient virtual setting including:

• →Conduct video consultations and communicate with patients through telemedicine.
• →Assess, screen, diagnose, and prescribe medication when clinically appropriate.
• →Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs.
• →Coordinate treatment planning and care delivery with BetterHelp’s network of licensed therapists.
• →Deliver empathetic, high-quality care while upholding BetterHelp’s clinical and service standards.
• →Share feedback with BetterHelp’s product, engineering, and operations teams to help improve the provider and patient experience.

We’re looking for psychiatrists who are passionate about expanding access to mental healthcare and comfortable delivering high-quality care virtually.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

• At least one year of experience as a licensed Psychiatrist.
• An active medical license (MD/DO) in good standing.
• Experience prescribing medication when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable state law.
• Confidence using technology and online tools to deliver virtual care.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.

• Previous telemedicine experience.
• Active medical licenses in multiple states.
• Fluency in additional languages.

• This is a part-time, independent contractor (1099) position, not a salaried employee role.
• BetterHelp will support credentialing and enrollment with multiple health plans to help expand access to insured patients.
• All patient care is delivered remotely through BetterHelp’s telehealth platform.
• Licensed providers make all clinical decisions independently and in accordance with applicable state telehealth laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Estimates are derived from modeled assumptions regarding the number of completed visits per hour, CPT code mix, and utilization of add-on codes (such as 90833) when clinically appropriate and properly documented. Actual earnings will vary based on individual clinical decisions, case mix, scheduling availability, payer reimbursement, licensure, geographic market factors, and other applicable considerations.
