Run the day to day operation of the laundry and Ada Linen to make sure that they are ran efficiently and productively. Maintain all paperwork and recordkeeping of Ada Linen weight. This position is responsible for transporting soiled and clean linen between the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel location on a scheduled basis, ensuring linen is delivered accurately, on time, and in good condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Learn how to operate all of the equipment in the Laundry.

• Learn how to work in all of the laundry different areas (Feed and catch on the Iron, run the towel machine, learn how to run the washer and dryers, and learn how to work in the Shute room).

• Attend departmental meetings.

• Follow AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.

• Reads or listens to Daily Planner.

• Complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task list.

• Maintain a positive work area.

• Work with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

• Ensure proper productivity and quality standards are kept.

• Ensure all policies and procedures are being adhered to.

• Make sure work area is kept clean.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a company vehicle to transport linen and laundry supplies between the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and the Ada Hotel according to the established delivery schedule.

• Load and unload linen carts and bags, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage, contamination, or loss of items in transit.

• Verify and record linen counts and weights at pick-up and drop-off, maintaining accurate paperwork for the Ada Linen program.

• Conduct a basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection (fluid levels, tires, lights, cleanliness) and report any mechanical issues to a supervisor immediately.

• Follow all traffic laws and company vehicle policies, and maintain a safe driving record while operating on hotel business.

• Communicate proactively with the Laundry and Housekeeping teams regarding delivery times, delays, or discrepancies.

• Keep the vehicle interior clean and organized, and secure loads properly for transport.

• Complete any required mileage, fuel, or trip logs in accordance with AHC Hospitality policy.

Driver License Requirements:

• Must possess a valid, unrestricted state driver's license and maintain it in good standing throughout employment.

• Must be at least 21 years of age, per company vehicle insurance requirements.

• Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record; a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be conducted prior to and periodically during employment.

• Must successfully complete any company-required vehicle safety orientation or training before operating a company vehicle.

• Must immediately notify a supervisor of any change in license status, including suspension, revocation, or restriction.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate:

• Is regularly required to stand, walk, and run.

• Must be able to be on one's feet up to 8 hours per day.

• Is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.

• Is required to frequently reach with hands and arms.

• Is regularly required to talk or hear, taste, or smell.

• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a company vehicle for linen transport between hotel locations.
