United Contractor Services (UCS) is a national specialty subcontractor and a Top 50 Walls and Ceilings contractor in North America. We deliver commercial interior construction across metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, stucco, painting, and Division 8 & 10 Specialties. As we grow across multiple markets, we're investing in the next generation of construction professionals, and we're looking for a University Relations & Early Career Recruiter to lead that effort nationwide.

About the Role
The University Relations & Early Career Recruiter owns UCS's campus and entry-level hiring program, with a primary focus on internships and Assistant Project Manager (APM) recruiting across all of our markets. Reporting to the Recruiting Manager, you'll build relationships with universities and construction management programs, represent UCS at career fairs and campus events, and guide students and recent graduates from first contact through offer. You'll also work closely with operations leadership to understand where early career talent is needed, coordinate local team members to support career fairs in their markets, and help shape how interns and new APMs are brought into the business.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage partnerships with universities, construction management and engineering programs, career services offices, and student organizations
  • Plan campus recruiting events and career fairs across the country, attending in person or coordinating local UCS team members to represent the company
  • Lead recruiting for the national internship program, from sourcing and screening through offer and onboarding handoff
  • Recruit recent graduates and early career candidates for Assistant Project Manager roles in markets nationwide
  • Partner with operations and project leadership to forecast intern and APM needs by market and season
  • Coordinate the intern experience, including placement, check-ins, and identifying top performers for full-time conversion
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, track campus pipeline activity, and report on early career hiring results
  • Grow UCS's presence on campus through employer branding, social outreach, and alumni connections
  • Represent UCS professionally and give students a clear picture of what a career in commercial construction looks like

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience; university relations, campus, or early career recruiting strongly preferred
  • Construction, engineering, or AEC industry recruiting experience is a plus
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and representing the company at events
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with students and with senior leaders alike
  • Organized and able to manage a seasonal recruiting calendar alongside ongoing open roles
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an in-office, team-based environment
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, job boards, and campus recruiting platforms such as Handshake
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel nationally on occasion for campus events and career fairs

Why UCS
Joining UCS means helping build the future of a growing national contractor. You'll have a direct hand in creating the pipeline that develops our next project managers and leaders, with the support of an established operation behind you.
