Senior Accountant

 

 

• →Prepare monthly journal entries and assist in the maintenance of the general ledger system, including asset management and accounts payable modules
• →Assist with financial reporting
• →Assist with financial analysis, including time sensitive ad hoc information requests
• →Assist with controllership, especially as it relates to the preparation of account reconciliations
• →Key performance indicators, dashboards and scorecards
• →Operating plans, budgets and reforecasts

These responsibilities are to be carried out primarily in Berkley Southwest’s Coppell, Texas office or Continental Western Group’s Urbandale, Iowa office in order to facilitate in-person collaboration with colleagues and to provide immediate support when called upon.

 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Minimum 3 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience
• Minimum 3 year of financial systems experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of the Property and Casualty insurance industry preferred
• Advanced financial application and/or data management skills (i.e., Excel and SQL, etc.)

• Must be able to work in a hybrid 4-1 work environment.  Presently, most employees work in the office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and work remotely on Friday.  Days are not flexible, nor is full-time work from home an option at this time.
