Build the Future with Martin Concrete Construction

Martin Concrete Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Superintendent to lead concrete field operations on large-scale and complex commercial, industrial, tilt-up, and multi-story construction projects. This is an opportunity for a seasoned field leader who takes ownership of the work, develops strong teams, and knows how to keep complex concrete projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

As Senior Superintendent, you will have overall responsibility for field operations, including safety, production, quality, manpower, scheduling, and jobsite logistics. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, subcontractors, customers, and field teams. You will also mentor and support other Superintendents and field leaders to deliver consistent, high-quality results across projects.

This position requires working onsite at active construction projects. Travel may be required based on project assignments and business needs. Overtime, weekend, or night work may be necessary to meet project schedules.

What You’ll Do:

As Senior Superintendent, you will lead field operations from start to finish, coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and daily activities while setting the standard for safety, quality, and productivity in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all field operations, with overall responsibility for safety, production, and quality.
  • Uphold and champion the highest safety standards for crews and subcontractors on site, creating a culture where safety is paramount.
  • Serve as a key point of contact with customers and client representatives, discussing project status, resolving issues, and ensuring clear communication.
  • Supervise all field personnel, providing leadership, training, and mentorship to develop a highly skilled workforce.
  • Mentor and support Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Foremen, promoting accountability and consistent field standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop project plans, manage budgets, and update schedules to meet key milestones.
  • Develop and maintain field schedules, including three-week look-ahead plans, and participate in preconstruction, pre-pour, and operational meetings.
  • Plan and oversee concrete pours, including manpower, equipment, truck logistics, sequencing, and contingencies.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, order materials and tools, and ensure project specifications are met.
  • Monitor labor, material, and equipment productivity, and communicate production and cost concerns to project leadership.
  • Maintain essential field documentation, including daily reports, timekeeping, safety inspections, and production records.
  • Communicate effectively with other Superintendents and internal teams to coordinate resources and project needs.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to coordinate concrete scopes and identify potential field conflicts.
  • Represent Martin Concrete professionally with customers, General Contractors, inspectors, and project teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of field construction experience, with at least 5 years as a Concrete Superintendent on commercial, industrial, tilt-up, multi-story, or similar concrete construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale or complex concrete construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of concrete construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from construction drawings and project specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading field personnel, developing field leaders, and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety, quality control, manpower planning, and production management.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights, or adjusted schedules as project demands require.
  • Ability to work onsite at active projects and travel as project assignments require.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • OSHA certification.
  • ACI or TCA certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Who You Are:

  • A confident, hands-on leader who takes ownership and accountability for project performance.
  • A clear, direct communicator who works effectively with crews, customers, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • A proactive problem-solver who thinks ahead, anticipates challenges, and makes sound decisions under pressure.
  • An effective delegator who maintains accountability for overall field performance.
  • Organized and capable of coordinating multiple priorities, resources, and project demands.
  • Committed to developing people and building strong, high-performing field teams.
