Cadmus seeks a Building Decarbonization Analyst to join our Energy Services team. This role is designed for candidates with 2–4 years of experience who are interested in combining hands-on fieldwork with technical analysis to advance energy efficiency and decarbonization across commercial and industrial facilities.

The successful candidate will spend an average of 1–2 days per week in the field, conducting ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits and field inspections, engaging with facility staff, collecting site data, and identifying opportunities to improve building energy systems. Typical systems include lighting, HVAC, chillers, boilers, controls, and other major end uses. While deep expertise in every system is not expected, a solid foundation in building energy systems is required.

When not in the field, this role will support engineering desk reviews, energy savings analysis, and measurement and verification (M&V) activities across projects in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Desk reviews will include reviewing equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and energy savings estimates. The candidate will also support current M&V efforts through analysis of metered and operational data and implementation of established M&V approaches.

This position provides opportunities to develop experience across a range of energy efficiency and decarbonization projects while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.

  • →Conduct ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits at commercial and industrial facilities, evaluating building systems and identifying efficiency and decarbonization opportunities.
  • →Perform field inspections to verify measure installation and operating parameters, collect data, and engage with facility staff.
  • →Perform engineering desk reviews, including review of equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and energy savings estimates.
  • →Deploy diagnostic and monitoring tools, such as temperature sensors, motor loggers, and combustion analyzers, to collect operational data and verify equipment performance.
  • →Support M&V activities, including implementing established protocols and analyzing metered and trend data.
  • →Analyze collected data and site documentation to calculate energy savings, cost impacts, and greenhouse gas reductions.
  • →Prepare clear and concise technical reports, memos, and client presentations, communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • →Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams nationwide, providing technical support on projects across multiple states.
  • →Take ownership of assigned technical tasks and contribute to the successful delivery of project work.
