We are looking for experienced Automotive CAD Engineers with strong hands-on expertise in Siemens NX (UGNX), CATIA V5, and Teamcenter. The primary responsibility will be to convert existing CATIA CAD data (both neutral formats such as STEP and native parametric models) into fully editable, parametric Siemens NX models while preserving the original design intent, geometry, features, and engineering requirements.

The candidate should have a good understanding of automotive components and systems across different vehicle perimeters and the ability to handle CAD data migration with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

Convert CATIA V5 CAD data, including native parametric models and neutral formats (STEP/IGES), into Siemens NX parametric models.

→

Rebuild and recreate parametric features, sketches, constraints, surfaces, and solid models in UGNX.

→

Ensure converted models maintain original geometry, dimensional accuracy, design intent, and feature integrity.

→

Handle complex automotive components and assemblies across different vehicle perimeters such as BIW, Interior Trims, Exterior Trims, Closures, and other automotive systems.

Perform geometry validation, dimensional checks, and comparison between source CATIA data and converted UGNX data.

→

Identify and resolve issues related to geometry gaps, surface discontinuities, missing features, and conversion errors.

Work with native and neutral CAD formats and manage CAD data migration through Teamcenter.

→

Ensure proper model structuring, naming conventions, feature tree organization, and CAD data traceability.

Maintain conversion quality, productivity, and adherence to project-specific CAD standards.

Coordinate with design and engineering teams to clarify model requirements and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

B.E or B. Tech degree in Mechanical engineering

Strong hands-on experience in Siemens NX (UGNX) – Part Modeling, Sketcher, Assembly Modeling, and Surface Modeling.
Working experience in CATIA V5, with the ability to understand native parametric models and STEP data.
Practical experience in converting CATIA models into editable and fully parametric UGNX models.
Good understanding of feature-based modeling, design intent, constraints, and parametric relationships.
Hands-on experience with Teamcenter for CAD data management, check-in/check-out, revision management, and dataset handling.
Knowledge of automotive component design and development processes.
Ability to perform CAD geometry validation and quality checks.

Experience in CAD data migration or CAD translation projects.
Exposure to automotive BIW, Interior, Exterior, Closures, Chassis, or other vehicle systems.
Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and dimensional validation.
Experience working with large assemblies and complex automotive CAD data.
Understanding of CAD interoperability and data exchange formats such as STEP and IGES.
