StarCompliance is a high-growth software-as-a-service company that helps financial services firms manage employee and firm compliance on one connected platform. More than 500 clients, including asset managers, broker-dealers, private equity firms and banks, rely on us, and we operate globally.

Our accounting team gives leaders accurate, insightful information that guides their decisions. We are early adopters of AI, using it to automate tasks and reconciliations and exploring how it can improve our reporting and analysis.

You will lead our accounting team of three through a Revenue Lead and a General Ledger Lead. The leads run day-to-day transactions; you provide oversight and guidance, review and approve their work, own key financial reporting, and step in to help when needed. We are a hands-on team where everyone pitches in to get the job done.

Lead, coach and develop the Revenue Lead and General Ledger Lead as the team grows

Own the month-end close and financial reporting, reviewing and approving the team’s work

Oversee revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue and annual recurring revenue reporting

Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and sales and use tax and value-added tax compliance

Manage the annual audit and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

Partner with Finance and leaders across the company on reporting, forecasting and strategic projects

Use AI and automation to make the close faster and our reporting more insightful

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or a high-growth company, with 3+ years managing accounting staff
Deep knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles, including ASC 606 for software-as-a-service or subscription businesses
Proven ownership of the month-end close and the annual external audit
Hands-on NetSuite and Salesforce experience; FloQast, Avalara, Ramp and Expensify experience is a plus
Curiosity about AI and a track record of using automation to improve accounting work
