What we want

The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Research Assistant to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. What You Need to Know

• →Intensively participates in data analysis and preliminary data collection through accurately following experimental protocols (e.g., cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, mice behavioral study). 
• →Compiles data files set from research teams. Collects, interprets, and analyzes data, compiles results, prepares reports, and presents their conclusions.
• →Maintains mouse colony in the vivarium, performs surgery on the xenograft mice, conducts behavioral test on mice, generates preliminary data for the lung cancer project and Alzheimer’s disease projects. 
• →Participates in poster and podium presentation of the collected results  

• Under the supervision of PI, organizes the professional collaboration between the pharmacy/graduate students and the lab team member.
• Helps train new lab members or undergraduate students and graduate students on techniques and safety protocols. 
• Ships laboratory agents for analysis  
• Works collaboratively with undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and PIs.  
• Attends and contributes to lab meetings and discussions.
• Other essential duties        

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment. 
• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position. 
• Attention to detail.
