Field Operator IV

Our Process & Pipeline Services (PPS) team supports some of the world's leading energy operators by delivering specialist pre-commissioning, maintenance, and pipeline services. From shutdowns and turnarounds to new facility start-ups, we play a vital role in ensuring safe and successful project execution.

As a Field Operator IV, you will work independently on Process & Pipeline Services (P&M) operations, delivering safe, high-quality services at customer sites. You will carry out operational activities as directed by the Supervisor, complete all required testing and documentation, and ensure work is performed in accordance with Baker Hughes' HSE standards, legal compliance requirements, and core values.

As a Field Operator IV, you will be responsible for:

• Operating and supporting Process & Pipeline Services activities including nitrogen/helium leak testing, nitrogen purging, flange management, mechanical bolting, barrier leak testing, pigging, hydrotesting, and FCGT operations.
• Rigging up, operating, and maintaining specialist pumping, nitrogen, and bolting equipment.
• Conducting equipment inspections, maintenance, and daily operational checks.
• Troubleshooting equipment and operational issues in the field.
• Preparing accurate job reports and operational documentation.
• Supporting risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and permit-to-work compliance.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.
• Identifying appropriate hoses, fittings, and equipment for specific pipeline operations.
• Participating in pre-job planning, post-job reviews, and yard operations as required.
• Building positive working relationships with colleagues and customers while representing Baker Hughes professionally at all times.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have proven experience within Process & Pipeline Services operations as a stand-alone operator.
• Have a strong mechanical background and troubleshooting capability.
• Hold a valid BOSIET/FOET (UK offshore survival) certificate and offshore medical.
• Possess the certifications required to work within the UK offshore sector.
• Demonstrate experience operating nitrogen, pumping, pressure testing, or bolting equipment.
• Be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements.
• Have experience with torque and tensioning operations (desirable).
• Have pipe-freezing experience (desirable).
