Finance Internship

• Develop working knowledge of the Accounting and Finance Manual and the current edition of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
• Assist with daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with month-end journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare organized supporting documentation and workpapers for balance sheet and profit-and-loss analysis, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Learn and support accounts receivable activities, including responding professionally to guest and internal inquiries.
• Learn and assist with daily income audit reports, reconciliations, and related analysis.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and support the accuracy of quantities, pricing, and valuation.
• Rotate through Finance functions to understand departmental processes and interdependencies.
• Work with the Purchasing team to understand the procure-to-pay cycle and its impact on financial reporting and controls.
• Develop a working knowledge of Finance operations over the six-month internship period, where applicable.
• Follow applicable local and corporate policies, procedures, internal controls, and record-retention requirements.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.

Rate: $17.00 per hour
