Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Data & Business Intelligence is HTeaO's day-to-day owner of business reporting, ensuring leaders across Operations, Finance, Marketing, and the support center have accurate, consistent, and timely information to make decisions. This role picks up the Snowflake and Power BI assessment underway with an outside partner and leads the practical work that follows: cleaning up Power BI, defining shared metrics, and building reliable reporting on Snowflake.
The Senior Analyst works alongside an outside data engineering partner, who leads Snowflake architecture and complex integrations, and grows into broader platform ownership over time. This role offers a clear development path toward Manager, Data & Business Intelligence as the data function expands, with company support for relevant certifications such as SnowPro and Microsoft PL-300.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment Transition & Roadmap Support
- Serve as HTeaO's internal point of contact for the Snowflake and Power BI assessment; absorb the outside partner's findings and ensure knowledge transfers to the internal team.
- Help turn assessment findings into a prioritized work plan with IT leadership.
- Coordinate day-to-day with the outside data partner, tracking deliverables, open items, and project milestones.
- Provide regular status updates on reporting and data work to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
- Power BI Reporting & Modernization
- Rationalize existing Power BI reports and datasets; retire duplicate and unused content.
- Build and maintain shared semantic models on Snowflake so reports use one source of truth.
- Apply workspace, publishing, refresh, and access standards across Power BI.
- Train and support report builders across the organization.
- Snowflake Data Modeling
- Write SQL models in Snowflake that move business logic out of Power BI, following standards set with the outside data partner.
- Document data sources, models, and transformations so they are current and easy to find.
- Monitor data freshness and pipeline results; investigate issues and escalate to the data partner or vendors as needed.
- Grow ownership of Snowflake architecture, access, and transformation tooling (e.g., dbt) over time.
- Systems Integration Support
- Support onboarding of the new POS, Paytronix, Bikky, Crunchtime, and 7shifts data into Snowflake alongside existing OLO data.
- Validate new data against source systems before it is used in reporting.
- Help map NetSuite financial data so operational and financial reporting reconcile.
- Maintain shared reference data, including locations, menu items, and calendar.
- Metric Definitions & Data Standards
- Build and maintain a company-wide metric catalog, including net sales, transactions, average ticket, comparable store sales, labor percentage, cost of goods, and loyalty engagement.
- Partner with business owners to approve and maintain each key metric definition.
- Follow access and security practices for sensitive data, including guest and employee information.
- Cost Monitoring
- Produce a monthly Snowflake cost and usage report, including cross-region data transfer from sources outside AWS US West.
- Flag unusual spend and recommend savings, such as warehouse settings and query improvements, to IT leadership and the data partner.
- Business Partnership
- Serve as the go-to data partner for Operations, Finance, Marketing, and leadership.
- Translate business questions into dashboards, reports, and analysis.
- Support decisions on new locations, menu, labor, loyalty, and marketing with clear, reliable data.
- Model HTeaO's Guiding Principles—Put People First, Keep It Simple, Build Genuine Partnerships, and Own It—through service, transparency, and follow-through.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
