Principal Technologist

Billigence is a boutique data consultancy and Snowflake Elite Partner. We help organisations turn data into decisions using Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Collibra. We’re looking for a senior technologist who wants to stay close to technology without being buried in delivery. You’ll be the person clients call when the stakes are high, the person our Principals call when the problem is hard, and the voice that represents Billigence on stage.

What you’ll do:

With clients

• Act as a trusted advisor at C-level and shape clients’ wider data & AI strategy, beyond the current project.
• Spot and shape new opportunities in existing accounts, together with Principal Consultants and account teams.
• Make sure change sticks. New tools, governance and ways of working should still be working long after we leave.

Inside Billigence

• Set the technical vision and standards across our practices.
• Mentor Principal Consultants and be their escalation point for the toughest technical and strategic challenges.
• Design learning pathways and certification programmes together with our People team.
• Build reusable Billigence IP: methodologies, accelerators, playbooks.

In pre-sales

• Lead proposals, RFPs, demos and proofs of concept for flagship opportunities.
• Be the senior technical voice in commercial negotiations: deliverable, differentiated and priced right.

With partners and the market

• Own senior relationships with Snowflake and other strategic partners. Join co-innovation, early-access and joint go-to-market programmes.
• Own our innovation agenda: scan the horizon, run PoCs, and turn what works into new offerings.
• Speak at industry and partner events, webinars and roundtables as a recognised thought leader.

What you bring:

• Certified, SME-level expertise in Snowflake and broad fluency across the data/AI/analytics landscape.
• A clear point of view on technology strategy and the vendor landscape, plus the confidence to defend it.
• Executive presence. You’re comfortable in a boardroom and on a stage.
• Commercial acumen: deal costing, margin and pricing trade-offs, and tracking pipeline against target.
• The ability to scope and sanity-check complex, multi-workstream delivery, even when you’re not running it day to day.
• You translate tech into business language and back again, with juniors as well as CEOs.
• A genuine drive to grow people around you.
• You work independently and juggle multiple clients, partners and initiatives without losing focus.
