CURB CONCRETE FINISHER

Summary:  Perform a variety of tasks related to concrete products and forms used with building roads, highways, and heavy horizontal construction projects.  Involves manual labor, operating a variety of tools, and assisting other craft workers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  ·   Prepare surfaces for paving and place forms for molding concrete

  ·   Mix sand, cement, and water in specified proportions to make cement, grout, or slurry

  ·   Pour, finish, and cure concrete

  ·   Finish surface of concrete products or structural elements after forms are removed 

  ·   Fill holes and cracks, patch corners, and smooth surfaces

  ·   Remove rough projections from surfaces by chiseling, chipping, scraping, rubbing, grinding, and brushing

  ·   Load/unload trucks and haul/hoist materials

 JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  ·   High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or the equivalent preferred

  ·   One year's experience in Road Construction

  ·    Valid Driver' License required

  ·    Detail oriented

  ·    Team player

  ·   Safety-minded

  ·    Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, hear, communicate, and operate equipment for extended periods. The position may require lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds. Work is performed outdoors in changing weather and around traffic, hot asphalt, dust, construction materials, and moderate to high equipment noise. Regular professional interaction with supervisors, crew members, customers, inspectors, and the public is required.
