The Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Fine Arts is establishing a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions in their Painting and Printmaking Program.  The Department of Fine Arts will consult the adjunct applicant pool and contact qualified applicants whose credentials match our specific teaching needs on an as-needed basis.

This pool will be assessed as adjunct opportunities arise. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an awareness of the field, knowledge of media specialization, particularly in technical proficiency; knowledge of or experience in implementing a variety of teaching strategies and the ability to teach effectively at the college level.

Possible adjunct opportunities could include teaching one or more courses in any of the areas of study offered within Painting and Printmaking Program.  A link to course descriptions from VCU’s Bulletin can be found at https://bulletin.vcu.edu/azcourses/papr/.

Adjunct faculty are expected to be enthusiastic ambassadors for the Department of Fine Arts and have a desire to work with a student population from all backgrounds and experiences in a collaborative and learning-centered community of other adjunct instructors, students, faculty and staff.
