You will join the Language & Audio group where you will be performing machine learning engineering of our Large Language Models and their harnesses. Your work will impact all aspects of the machine learning cycle, from data curation to model training to deployment to monitoring and feedback, and will likewise improve the effectiveness of first responders and other public safety personnel.

Application areas include natural language processing, summarization, and search over enterprise and public-safety data, redaction, video transcription and case file management, and chat-based interfaces and LLM-enhanced user experiences. You will work with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build machine learning products that are informative and responsive, leveraging your collaboration skills as you work with a team to develop reusable components, enabling cooperation between research units and production engineers.

Responsibilities

→Perform the development of large language model driven machine learning solutions
→Work across all stages of the machine learning lifecycle, including data curation, model training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.
→Apply your knowledge to public safety application areas such as 911 call handling, dispatch, and case management, and enterprise applications in retail, commercial security, and infrastructure management
→Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build scalable machine learning products
→Create reusable components to support integration between research teams and production engineering

Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, physics, or computer science
7+ years of combined experience as a machine learning researcher and/or a post-graduate degree in a quantitative science or engineering
Previous experience managing an LLM-based solution from inception to market
Previous experience managing cloud-based software engineering
Strong written and oral communication skills in English

Experience developing software for public safety (police, fire, paramedic and other first responders) or enterprise (retail, heavy industry)
Experience working horizontally with UI/UX and product management
Experience incorporating UX guidance in LLM-driven design patterns, test patterns and training methodologies
Knowledgeable of Machine Learning fundamentals and best practices

Note: Candidate will be in the Waltham, MA office 2-3 days per week.
