Logistics & Supply ChainLogistics Specialist

This is an opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to support the transportation of critical IT hardware powering large-scale AI infrastructure and data center operations. In this hands-on role, you will oversee domestic U.S. freight, international shipments, and reverse logistics for servers, racks, and high-value equipment. You will coordinate closely with suppliers, carriers, data center teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable, timely, and secure delivery. The position combines operational execution, vendor management, compliance, and cost optimization in a fast-paced global environment. You will help improve logistics performance, manage risks, and support expanding infrastructure deployments. This remote opportunity offers ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to contribute to the growth of AI cloud infrastructure.

  • Manage end-to-end transportation operations: Coordinate the movement of IT hardware, including server racks, servers, and data center equipment, across domestic U.S. routes, inbound international freight, and outbound shipments as required.

  • Coordinate freight scheduling: Manage domestic and international inbound freight, including air freight from Taiwan and other origins. Select carriers, arrange bookings, and ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries.

  • Manage reverse logistics: Oversee RMA and RMS shipments, coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing.

  • Coordinate equipment transfers: Manage hardware movements between warehouses and data center facilities, optimizing routes and minimizing handling risks.

  • Monitor shipments and resolve disruptions: Maintain visibility into active shipments, proactively address delays and exceptions, and develop contingency plans and alternative routing strategies.

  • Handle urgent shipments: Coordinate time-critical air freight, including carrier selection, booking, tracking, and expedited delivery execution.

  • Support data center deployment: Work with data center operations teams on staging, buffering, and just-in-time hardware deployment.

  • Maintain shipment records: Track in-transit inventory and ensure accurate chain-of-custody documentation for all shipments.

  • Manage logistics documentation and systems: Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready shipment records in Jira, transportation management systems (TMS), or equivalent tools.

  • Process logistics invoices and payments: Reconcile freight invoices and coordinate transportation-related payments, including ZIP payments to appropriate vendors and partners.

  • Ensure shipment security: Collaborate with security teams to establish and maintain secure transportation protocols and physical security compliance.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance: Ensure domestic shipments comply with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and international freight meets U.S. import/export, customs clearance, and trade compliance obligations.

  • Support audits and quality controls: Maintain documentation for internal SOX and external compliance requirements, identify process deviations, and implement corrective actions.

  • Manage carrier and 3PL performance: Establish and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting regular performance reviews and driving accountability.

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities: Partner with hardware engineering, procurement, finance, and data center operations to align logistics with deployment schedules and business priorities.

  • Collaborate with international suppliers: Work with OEM suppliers, including those based in Taiwan, on shipping windows, batch tracking, customs documentation, and inbound scheduling.

  • Serve as an escalation point: Resolve U.S. transportation issues involving internal teams, freight providers, and external partners.

  • Drive continuous improvement: Use KPI tracking, root cause analysis, and process standardization to improve operational efficiency and shipment reliability.

  • Forecast transportation demand: Align logistics capacity with data center expansion plans, hardware deployment schedules, and operational needs.

  • Optimize transportation costs: Identify opportunities for carrier consolidation, route improvements, and more efficient scheduling.

  • Monitor and report logistics performance: Track costs, investigate variances, and prepare reports, dashboards, and operational analytics to support data-driven decisions.
